Morris Plains Rep Joins Board of Education

Lucia Galdi was born in Morristown and moved to Morris Plains when she was 7 years old.

The Morris School District welcomed a new Morris Plains Borough representative to the Board of Education Monday night.

Lucia Galdi replaces Alan Albin, who had been the previous Morris Plains resident representing the borough for the Morris School District, which hosts Morris Plains students at Morristown High School.

Born in Morristown, Galdi moved to Morris Plains when she was seven, "and I have been there ever since," said the mother of two boys in the school system, a seventh-grader at Morris Plains Borough School and a freshman at the high school. She, too, was a graduate of Morristown High School.

A human resources manager at Honeywell, Galdi said she is excited to get more involved in the inner workings of the district.

"I'm really happy to be a part of this," she said.

Correction: A previous version had Lucia Galdi's son as attending Frelinghuysen Middle School, when he actually attends Morris Plains Borough School.

Doesn't Morris Plains still have a middleschool program? Why does she have a student at Frelinghuysen?

The article was incorrect. Her son does go to Morris Plains Borough. Although it could be possible for him to be a Frelinghuysen for Morris Plains is now "choice"

Her son? Lucia, are you speaking in third person? I'm confused (and, correcting the article. Thanks!)
