Council Sets DPW Salaries

Morris Plains Council introduces two ordinances

A brief salary negotiation with the Morris Plains Department of Public Works employees resulted in a 2 percent salary hike, Councilman Jason Karr said at the council meeting Thursday, Feb. 2.

The council introduced an ordinance approving the new salaries.

Karr said 14 employees are covered by the contract, which will run for three years. Under state law, the employees will pay for a larger share of their benefits each year, Mayor Frank Dreutzler said. Karr said the negotiations lasted for a month.
