DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;New Exhibit - &ldquo\;A Fine Collection: Treasures fro
 m the Vault&rdquo\;\nThis Fall Macculloch  Hall Historical  Museum will 
 exhibit some of its most popular pieces as well as many seldom-seen trea
 sures which have been in storage. Vivid examples of the antique Oriental
  rug collection will be hung in the museum's first floor gallery\, compl
 emented by textbook examples of fine porcelain\, silver\, glass and furn
 iture collected by Museum founder\, W. Parsons Todd. This is a special o
 pportunity to see rarely-exhibited treasures from the collection in the 
 gallery and tour the rest of the museum to see many other pieces in peri
 od room settings.&nbsp\; Included in the exhibit are over a dozen Orient
 al rugs from the Museum&rsquo\;s collection. The exhibit will also featu
 re some of our country&rsquo\;s founding heroes documents including arti
 facts including George Washington\, Dolley Madison and others. The exhib
 it will also feature fine furniture such as a walnut English armchair\, 
 circa 1720\, which was the inspiration for the Museum&rsquo\;s logo with
  the ornate looping back and shell design.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\n&ldquo\;A Fi
 ne Collection&rdquo\; has a perimeter layout which leaves the center of 
 the room open for a series of speakers and musical programming taking pl
 ace in conjunction with the exhibit over the next several months.&nbsp\;
  Programs in conjunction with the exhibit take place with music on the f
 irst Sunday at 4:30pm and speakers on the third Sunday of the month Nove
 mber through June (no programs in January). They begin on Sunday Novembe
 r 4th with &ldquo\;Johnny Has Gone for a Solider: Early American Music&r
 dquo\;.&nbsp\; &ldquo\;The Early Music Players&rdquo\; will perform parl
 or songs\, political songs &amp\; dance music on replicas of 18th centur
 y instruments\, such as the flute\, recorder\, viola da gamba &amp\; gui
 tar.\n&nbsp\;\nOn Sunday November 18 4:30pm - Executive Director Carrie 
 Fellows will present &ldquo\;Fashions in the Age of Austen&rdquo\;\, an 
 exploration of women&rsquo\;s fashion encompassing 1790 &ndash\; 1817. U
 sing images from the period\, photos of surviving garments\, silhouettes
  in the Museum&rsquo\;s collection and handsewn reproduction clothing\, 
 Fellows will illustrate the Regency silhouette.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nTickets
  for Sunday programs will go on sale from 1pm on the day of the program\
 , no advance sales. &nbsp\;A separate ticket ($12) is required for the m
 usical programs\; discounted ($10) for members\, Seniors\, Students and 
 those who purchased a Museum tour ticket that afternoon.&nbsp\; House to
 urs (regular admission applies) take place throughout the afternoon\, th
 e last tour leaves at 3pm. The upstairs galleries will remain open until
  4:30pm however the &ldquo\;A Fine Collection&rdquo\; exhibit will close
  at 3pm in preparation for the program. Tickets to hear speakers are Adu
 lts $8\; Seniors &amp\; Students $6\; Children 6 &ndash\; 12 $4. Members
  and children under 5 are free. Speaker tickets include admission to tak

 ic Players&rdquo\; returning on December 2\, to perform &ldquo\;Carols a
 nd Capers: A Music Celebration from the Olde and New Worlds&rdquo\;&nbsp
 \; which celebrates the season with a collection of beautifully performe
 d holiday music from various countries spanning the Medieval\, Renaissan
 ce and Baroque periods (1300's - 1700's).&nbsp\; Then on December 16th j
 oin F.M. Kirby Curator Ryan Hyman as he presents &ldquo\;Thomas Nast&rsq
 uo\;s Historical Icons&rdquo\;\, to learn more about the nineteenth cent
 ury political cartoonist&rsquo\;s Thomas Nast including his popularizati
 on of the modern day image of Santa Claus\n&nbsp\;\nMacculloch Hall  His
 torical Museum preserves the history of the Macculloch-Miller families\,
  the Morris area community\, and the legacy of its founder W. Parsons To
 dd through its historic site\, collections\, exhibits\, and educational 
 and cultural programs. The Museum is open to tour the house and view exh
 ibits on Wednesdays\, Thursdays &amp\; Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Adults $
 8\; Seniors &amp\; Students $6\; Children 6 &ndash\; 12 $4. Members and
