Go check out The Mavericks at MPAC this Friday at 8 p.m. Fusing progressive country with traditional rockabilly, The Mavericks return after a nearly 10-year hiatus with their crowd-pleasing country pop that includes such favorites as “Dance the Night Away,” “All You Ever Do is Bring Me Down,” and “What a Crying Shame,” according to MPAC. Today is also the last day of the Morris Museum exhibit ‘Mega Model Trains.’ The Model Train Display will delight all ages with six working tracks and 48 interactive features. “A gift from Mondeléz International (formerly Kraft Foods), this spectacular 288-square-foot display will take you through cities, towns, a playground and the countryside,” according to the museum.

At the Morristown-Morris Township Library, there’s Pre-School Craft Story Time at 10 a.m. today. Come listen to some stories and make a simple craft to take home. All supplies provided and the activity is sponsored by The Friends of the Library. It runs every Friday from July 9 – Aug. 16.
Head over to the Morris County Library for Summer Friday films. Catch Silver Linings Playbook at 2 p.m. at the library. It’s rated R and is 122 minutes. Silver Linings Playbook received eight academy award nominations and Jennifer Lawrence won the academy award for best actress. It was nominated for three golden globes and Jennifer Lawrence won the golden globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. Take advantage of the few summer nights that are left before schools starts. This Saturday, head to Ginty Pool for Morris Township’s night swim event. There will be a DJ and it runs from 8 – 10 p.m.
