Essay Winners Honored at Morris Plains VFW

Patriot's Pen and the Voice of Democracy Essay contest were recognized at District 10 meeting at Post 3401.

On Sunday,  VFW Post 3401 Morris Plains hosted the District 10 Meeting which honored the winners of the VFW's Patriot's Pen and the Voice of Democracy Essay Contest.

According to Sr. Vice Commander Jim Auriemma, family, friends and VFW Post members were in attendance to listen to the students read their winning essays. The students had already won at their local VFW Post levels and now have placed at the District level. The winners will move on to the State level where additional scholarship prizes and certificates are awarded. 

Edward La Rosa,  Adam Stone read from their Patriots Pen entries while  Voice of Democracy Karen Gu (third place) and  Serena Zachariah (first place) also shared their entries.
