So once again, we bring you the weekly Grab & Go Kids Planner, our list of kid-friendly places and activities. You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to find the best things to do, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

As always, help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips—if we missed anything, just leave us a comment letting us know!

Classic Cartoons
Where/When: At the  in Morris Township beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Why Go: Because children tend to like cartoons -- and if they’re classic enough, parents might remember them too.
Pricing: Free with museum admission.

Where/When: From noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the  in Morris Township.
Why Go: Because children ages 5 or older can learn about fingerprints by studying their own.
Pricing: Free for members, $3 per child plus museum admission for non-members.

Story Times at Barnes & Noble
Where/When: Barnes & Noble in Morris Plains. “All About Space Storytime” begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24 and a “Storytime and Visit with Clifford” begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27.
Why Go: Because whether your children are interested in space or love the character “Clifford,” this could be a fun and education event.
Pricing: Free

Preschool Craft & Storytime at Morristown and Morris Township Public Library
Where/When: 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23 at the Morristown and Morris Township Public Library.
Why Go: Children ages 2-5 are welcome to attend, participate and bring home what they create.
Pricing: Free

Morristown's Got Talent!
Where/When: 
7 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23 at in Morristown.
Why Go: There will be over a dozen family-friendly performances, including solo singers, a classical pianist, even a Irish dance troupe. This annual event has sold out before, so you better hurry before you miss out.
Pricing: $20-$75, with proceeds benefiting the Morris Educational Foundation.

Story Times at the County Library
Where/When: Preschool story time will run from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Morris County Library in Whippany. Open story time for babies 6 months to 2 years old will run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.
Why Go: Because your child loves stories, songs and finger plays, or because you want to get your child hooked on books early. 
Pricing: Free

Colonial Cooking Contest
Where/When: At the  in Madison on Saturday, Feb 26 at 10 a.m.
Why Go: If you registered by the Friday, Feb. 18 deadline, then you can participate in the Children’s and Family division that begins at 10 a.m. Families with children 12 or younger will research a historic recipe from early America and cook it for the museum’s second annual colonial cooking contest. 
Pricing: $5 to register; regular museum admission for everyone else

Woodland Adventures: Map it Out
Where/When: From 1 to 2 p.m. at the  in Chatham on Thursday, Feb. 24.
Why Go: Because children ages 4 to 6 can learn the basics of maps while practicing map use on the trail. 
Pricing: $5 per child.


Where/When: From 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the  in Chatham.
Why Go: Because people of all ages can enjoy games, maple syrup snow cones, crafts, maple syrup taste tests, and tree tapping demos.
Pricing: $4

“Rapunzel - A Brush with Fate!”
Where/When: At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Pax Amicus Castle Theatre in Budd Lake on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Why Go: Because “Rapunzel” is a classic. You probably enjoyed it when you were a child, so why wouldn’t your children enjoy it too? For more information, see the Pax Amicus website.
Pricing: $12

Winter Ponding
Where/When:
 Lord Stirling Environmental Center, Basking Ridge, Wednesday, 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Why go: Children ages 7 to 9 can explore what's going on beneath the snow and ice on the ponds.
Pricing: $9 per person

Mini-Mammals
Where/When: Lord Stirling Environmental Center, Basking Ridge, Thursday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Why go: Children ages 2 to 3, along with a parent, can learn about mini-mammals with the theme of "Playin' Possum.' The event also includes activities, crafts and a story.
Pricing: $10 per child/parent, $5 each additional child

Polar Bear Day
Where/When: Lord Stirling Environmental Education Center, Basking Ridge, Friday, 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Why go: Children ages 4 to 6 will learn interesting facts about polar bears.
Pricing: $9 per person 

Frozen Fiesta
Where/When: Lord Stirling Environmental Education Center, Basking Ridge, Friday, 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Why go: Children ages 7 to 9 can learn about animals from the southern hemisphere.
Pricing: $11 per person
