James Street Set for Repaving Friday, Monday

County announces project less than 24-hours from start time.

The County of Morris abruptly announced Thursday it would be milling and paving James Street in Morristown on Friday, April 11, and Monday, April 14.

Reconstruction of the roadway will take place from Ogden Place to the town line, and from South Street to 150-feet south of South Street, according to Kristen Wedderburn at the Mayor’s Office.

The two-day project will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Friday and Monday, and alternating lanes of travel will be open to motorists, according to the county’s road department. Morristown Police officers have been assigned to assist with the project and directing traffic, the county said.

Detour signs are being posted in the area to help motorists as well.
