Nunn Better For Morris Twp. Fire Department

Michael Nunn elevated to lieutenant in Wednesday ceremony.

Flanked by his family and surrounded by friends and fellow officers, Morris Township Fire Department member Michael Nunn was elevated to the rank of lieutenant at Wednesday night’s regular meeting of the township committee (see the video attached to this post).

Nunn was praised for his efforts with the department by Chief Scott Lovenberg, who said Nunn had been fearless serving the community since 1995 and that highlights of his career included a stint working at ground zero after the terror attacks of 9/11.

Committeeman Bruce Sisler said the promotion decision was a difficult one because there were so many excellent candidates.

“Michael is a fantastic fireman and a fantastic person,” Sisler said.

For his part, committeeman Daniel Caffrey said what helped set Nunn apart was his skills as a trainer.
