EVERYTHING PIT BULL

Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter presents EVERYTHING PIT BULL, a day of education, demonstrations and celebration of these wonderful dogs.  The event takes place in the Shelter parking lot on Saturday, June 30 from 12-5 pm.  Admission is free.

A number of area shelters will participate by bringing their adoptable pits for meet and greets with potential families.  At 2 pm, we will have a special presentation by Jeff Coltenback. 

Jeff is a Holistic Pet Care Practitioner and specializes in dog behavior, aggression and canine nutrition. He has been involved in dog training for almost 20 years. Jeff has volunteered in various shelters from 2001 to 2008. During that time, he has trained shelter volunteers in dog handling and training. Over the years, Jeff has achieved certifications in; dog training, canine CPR, pet therapy handling, Canine Good Citizen Evaluations, NJ State Certified Animal Control, Mentor Dog Training Programs, Canine Nutrition, Reiki II, Canine Care and more. Jeff has also been doing pit bull rescue since 2001 (www.pittyrescue.com).

In 2011, Jeff wrote his first book based off of his experience with the famous Patrick the pit bull (www.OneHourWithPatrick.com). Jeff owns and operates a holistic pet store (www.paradisepet.net) and offers private training in NJ, NY, PA, CT and DE. In addition to training, Jeff conducts seminars and workshops on everything dog related, from training to behavior to aggression to pit bull advocacy to responsible pet ownership to dog nutrition and health. Jeff has been featured on Martha Stewart radio, “It’s a dog’s life” many times and has recently appeared on ABC’s “What Would You Do” television program.

Pits and people can also enjoy refreshments, grooming and other activities.  Low cost microchipping will be offered as well.  For more information, please contact the Shelter at 973-386-0068.  Mt.
