Masterwork Chorus – First Rehearsal and Auditions

Share the Joy - Sing with The Masterwork Chorus

The Masterwork Chorus, one of New Jersey’s finest symphonic choirs, announces its 2012 fall auditions.  Choral singers with strong vocal and sight-reading skills are invited to participate. Auditions are by appointment and will be held on Wednesday evening, September 12, 2012 at the group’s rehearsal space, the NJ Youth Symphony facility, 570 Central Avenue, New Providence, NJ.  Join us at our first rehearsal, September 5th at 7:30 pm to schedule an audition with Music Director Andrew Megill, to sing, and to mingle with returning singers.

Founded in 1955, The Masterwork Chorus is a welcoming group of professional and amateur musicians whose repertoire embraces great works from all ages. In December, the chorus joins the NJSO in festivities at NJPAC and the State Theater followed by performances of Handel’s Messiah at Drew University and Carnegie Hall.  Carnegie Hall marks the group’s 250th performance of this work. Celebration plans are underway and include a post-concert champagne reception.

The season continues in a January concert featuring the Mozart Requiem and concludes with “Voices Unite.”  Caecilien Chor, one of Germany’s oldest and best known oratorio choirs, joins The Masterwork Chorus in three April concerts presented at prominent New Jersey venues including Newark’s Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Princeton University Chapel.
