Local Residents Cast in Upcoming 'Marcus is Walking'

Actors from Northern New Jersey have been cast for the play written as a celebration on the 100th anniversary of the invention of the car.

The Strollers, Maplewood’s Community Theater in Residence at the Burgdorf Performing Arts Center, announced their cast forMarcus is Walking by Joan Ackerman.
 
More than 15 actors from all across Northern New Jersey have been cast in roles in the play that was written as a celebration on the 100th anniversary of the invention of the car.

The cast includes Morristown's Rory Hoban. Other cast members from local North Jersey towns include Stacey Petricha of Chatham, Rob Bazaral of Madison and Maplewood, Milburn and South Orange residents Chris Farrow, Brianna Newman, Judith Cohen, Laura Phillips, Kate McNally, Norman Metz, and David Dantowitz. In addition, Judi French of Chatham directs several scenes.
 
The play examines the emotional landscapes we roam as our cars carry us through our lives. Control, navigation, love, and escape are some of the themes explored and extrapolated in this joyride of modern American life. Marcus Is Walking will be performed Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6 and 7, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. For further information got to www.thestrollers.org.
