Rockefeller Group affiliate takes over 147-acres of global headquarters land.

The site of Honeywell headquarters in Morris Township could get a very large makeover, now that that the company has agreed to a developer taking over its 147-acre tract of land.

RG-Columbia LLC, an affiliate of Rockefeller Group Development Corporation, has submitted a general development plan to the township for the property located at 101 Columbia Road, according to a statement from the municipality.

RG-Columbia would develop the office and lab section of the property while K. Hovnanian Homes would develop the residential portion of the property, the statement said.

“We are pleased that this property will not be vacant and the new commercial and residential components will strengthen the Township’s fiscal stability,” Mayor Bruce Sisler said in the statement. “This is great news for the taxpayers and residents of Morris Township.”

The general development plan is expected to be presented to the Township of Morris Planning Board later this year. Meeting dates and times will be announced when they are known.
