2009 Cal Blanca Toro Tempranillo Wine Tasting at the Bottle King of Morris Plains, NJ

Stop by Saturday, 4/14 from 12-2pm, to sample April's Wine of the Month: a 2009 Cal Blanca Toro Tempranillo. The unique climate combines hot days and cool nights, which ripens the Tempranillo to full richness, crafting wines that are brawny and bold compared with their cousins in Rioja and Ribera del Duero. While the winery was recently founded in 2007, winemaker Pablo Rubio has a long history as visionary Peter Sisseck’s vineyard manager - the man behind Dominio de Pingus!

Rating:
"Seductive aromas of raspberry, potpourri and licorice, with a note of white pepper adding lift and vivacity. Sappy and broad, offering pliant red and dark fruit and floral pastille flavors and showing no excess fat. Finishes seamless and energetic, with impressive tenacity and echoing floral notes." - Stephen Tanzer, 90 Points

While in store, don't forget to try some THE 60 Brie by Calkins Creamery. This raw milk, soft-ripened cheese aged just over 60 days is naturally ripened at their creamery just up the road in Pennsylvania. The beautiful white rind, rich creaminess and flavorful inside make this a secret stash worth sharing, and talking about!
