Honeywell, Immunomedics Honored for Inventions

Also receiving award is Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen.

in Morris Township and Immunomedics in Morris Plains are among 13 New Jersey companies winning this year's Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award.

The award, presented by the Research & Development Council of New Jersey, was established to "ensure that the significant and diverse research and development work done by scientists and their respective New Jersey organizations receives the superstar recognition it deserves in this state,” Ian Shankland, chairman of the council said in a statement. Shankland is also vice president and chief technology officer at Honeywell Specialty Materials.

Individual honors will be given to several inventors and others. Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11) will receive the 2011 Chairman’s Award, which recognizes extraordinary commitment to research and development as the foundation of U.S. leadership in technological progress and innovation, according to the council.

Honeywell and inventors Brian Gibson and Fred Durrenberger will be recognized in the materials technology category for "Extrudable PVC Compositions." Immunomedics and co-inventors Drs. William J. McBride and David M. Goldenberg will receive a patent award in the medical imaging category for "Methods and Compositions For Improved F-18 Labeling of Proteins, Peptides and Other Molecules."
