Oh, No! Five Below to Go

Popular bargain store closing Morris Plains location Sunday.

Although the doors don't officially on its Morris Plains location until Sunday, the Five Below in the Morris Plains Shopping Center has become a virtual ghost town.

The discount store, which specializes in items priced from $1 to $5 is pulling up stakes in Morris Plains when its lease expires at the end of the month.

According to an employee of the Morris Plains location, since the closing announcement was made and the signs announcing close out sales went up, items have been flying out of the doors.

Officials from Five Below say that the store closing only effects the Morris Plains location and encourage customers to visit their locations in East Hanover and Rockaway.

That is where much of the staff in Morris Plains hopes to end up next month. There have been "help wanted" signs up in Rockaway for weeks and although employees there don't report an uptick in traffic since the closing of Morris Plains has been announced, once the doors are closed for good they expect to see more patrons.
