'Tell 'Em The Boys From Cincinnati Will Get Your Power Back'

Out-of-state crews working in hard-hit Bradford Estates.

Workers from First Energy in Cincinnati were seen in the Bradford Estates area of Morris Township Saturday. Out of power all week and encompassing some 90 homes, the neighborhood was among the hardest hit in the municipality.

"Tell 'em the boys from Cincinnati will get your power back," one worker, who declined to give his name or have his picture taken, said. He added that the work was going well and said it looked like a good bet that the lights would be on by Saturday night.

The worker told Patch that crews from West Virginia also were working in Morris Township.

On Friday, Patch received an email from a woman who identified herself as Rose Clark. She said she was a mother from West Virginia whose son and his co-workers were in the Morris Township area. She appealed to residents to offer a "kind word" or a "cup of coffee" to the crews and said her son told her that residents were taking out their anger on the workers. She later posted a similar message on the site. Efforts to reach Rose Clark for further comment were unsuccessful.

Residents of Bradford Estates, which is located just off Sussex Turnpike near the Randolph border, experienced both a power outage and flooding following Hurricane Irene.
