Township Woman Has New Consignment Business

Christine Jungermann of Morris Township is co-owner of the new shop Sugar & Spice and Everything Twice in Morristown

Christine Jungermann of Morris Township and Kim Smith of Parsippany have opened a children’s consignment shop in Morristown.

The shop is called Sugar & Spice and Everything Twice and it’s located at 167 South St. For the past two years Smith owned Milk Money in Morristown. After she partnered with Jungermann, the store was renamed and moved to South Street.

The new store is larger, has Wifi and offers coffee and light snacks.

Consignment stores pretty much all work the same. Before a season begins, consignment stores accept items from consignors. Some stores charge a small fee to set you up in their system.  Most pay you 40 percent or 50 percent of the sales price after the item sells.

If the items don’t sell, they usually are donated to a good cause. Sometimes a store owner will allow you to come back in and retrieve your unsold items.

Right now is the perfect time to organize fall and holiday attire and to bring to the consignment shop items that aren’t terribly worn or stained and don’t fit.

Try on all your shoes, and sort through Halloween costumes, toys, games and sports equipment too.  All of those items sell really well.

They don’t have to be high-end name brands or fancy, just clothes and items that are clean and in good shape. Best sellers include baby equipment like strollers and pack n’ plays that are in good shape, along with modern items such as shoes, toys and items like Uggs.

As the summer comes to a close, take some time to go through closets and pull out the things you can consign. Call ahead for an appointment or check the stores’ websites for drop-off hours.
