DWI Checkpoints in Morris Twp. Through Holidays

Police say time between Thanksgiving, New Years is most dangerous for drivers.

Morris Township police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and stepping up patrols through the holiday season, starting Wednesday night.

"The period of time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day is the most dangerous time of the year on the road. This is primarily due to an increased number of impaired drivers," the township's police department said in a notification via the Nixle service.

Police said the goal is to discourage people from driving impaired.
