Five Cool Things To Do Before Summer Ends

Make the most of your last days of summer .

The Morris County Tourism Office recommended a long list of events for August. Here are five that are still left for you to enjoy:

  1. Cosy Jazz Night, August 26: Head to the Cosy Cupboard Tea Room for the smooth sounds of the Carol Hamersma Trio, from 7–10:30 p.m. For information, call 973-998-6677 or send an email to cosycupboard42@yahoo.com.
  2. Old Timer's Night at The Minstrel, August 26. Every performer on stage will have been an active member of the Folk Project for at least 25 years. You'll see Jim Gartner, Frank and Hank, Rick Thomas, Mike Agranoff and more. Frosty Morning will play for the first time in more than ten years. 
  3. Gran Fondo, August 26-28: Over 900 riders have signed up to participate in New Jersey's first Gran Fondo cycling event. Enjoy a full weekend of fun that will benefit The Seeing Eye, Homeless Solutions, Inc. and Grow it Green Morristown. Join the ride or come and cheer-on the participants.
  4. Accidental Death of an Anarchist, through August 28. Amusing Italian farce now playing at the Shakespeare Theatrein Madison. (973)408-5600 
  5. Fashion in the Family: Historic Speedwell's 3rd Annual Fashion Show, August 28: Learn about what kids wore in days gone by at Historic Speedwell’s 3rd annual fashion show. Shows will be held at 1p.m. and 3p.m. and cost $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children ages 4-16 years and free for children 4 years and younger.
