Friday Update: When to Expect Power in Morris Twp.

If JCP&L thinks you have power, but you don't, call -888-LIGHTSS.

Morris Township officials have supplied yet another updated list of when residents can expect power to return, based on communication from JCP&L following last weekend's freak snowstorm.

The most current list, provided by the township late Thursday night, is connected to this post. See the same box used to display pictures on this story.

However Morris Township Mayor H. Scott Rosenbush and Committeeman Dan Caffrey issued the following statement clarified several points on the list

Although we know that Upperfield Road, Grace Way, Millers Farm Road, Croyden Road, and Forest Drive are not on the attached list received from JCP&L they have assured us they are in the system and being addressed as part of the outage for nearby streets.

If your street is on the list as not having power with a future restoration date but you have power, that means that there may be a service interruption from the pole to the home at one or more homes on your street.

Please note that some streets now have dates of Saturday, Nov. 5.  It is likely that these represent individual customers and not the entire street. Individual outages will take longer to restore (see next item)

If you are still without power, please check to see if the damage is at your individual house service – meaning the power line from the street to your home. If this is the case, you may need to get an electrician to come and make the repairs to your meter, meter pan or wire before JCP&L can get you restored. Please have your electrician contact Morris Township at 973-326-7427 so that our electrical inspector is aware of this repair.

If your ETR date that shows your street was pushed back, JCP&L has made a determination that the job is more complex or will take longer due to delays at other job sites that they did not anticipate.

The Morris Township Committee has listened to all our residents and has ensured that JCP&L has added ALL the streets in Morris Township that have been reported to us.  If your street is still not on the list, please reach out to us to make sure we know.

If you are still without power but JCP&L calls to tell you that you have power, call them back at 1-888-LIGHTSS and tell them that you don't have power.  This automated system is frustrating but it is important that you call again and let them know the power is not restored.

JCP&L is still reporting to us that 90-95% of their customers will have power restored by midnight Thursday night.

We will continue to provide the information we receive from JCP&L so that you are fully informed. As in the past this information is the best estimate for restoration and is not a guarantee.
