Eat at Plaza, Help Soup Kitchen

You can make donations as well.

The  is sponsoring "Dining to Donate" on Saturday, Nov. 19, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Plaza Diner will donate $1 to Coupons for the Community for each flyer (available online at couponsforthecommunity.org as well as connected to this post) turned in with a meal. Only one flyer per table per check will be accepted. The money will be used specifically for shopping for food needed by the .  

Donations of non-perishable and toiletry items will also be accepted at the Plaza on Saturday. Those items will also benefit the Community Soup Kitchen, which serves up to 300 people a day, 365 days a year.

Items needed:

  • Hearty meals in a can
  • Low sugar and low sodium items
  • Canned fruit and vegetables
  • Whole grain pasta
  • Brown rice
  • Oatmeal and cold cereal
  • Cans of coffee
  • Toiletry items (shampoo, bar soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, etc.).
