Morris Township officials were shocked when they were notified by Honeywell hours ahead of  the company's announcement that it was moving its global headquarters to neighboring Morris Plains, according a Morris NewsBee report.

Andrew Quinn, a 2008 graduate of Parsippany Hills High School, reportedly was crossing West 23rd Street on foot when he was hit by a southbound car that kept going. He was taken to New York's Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A 70-year-old Morris man, Gustavo Valencia, was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of second-degree conspiracy and official misconduct for brokering illegal sales of driver's licenses out of the Edison and East Orange state Division of Motor Vehicle offices without requiring six points of identification.

Asbestos Removal at Pfizer Site Hits Snag

Contractors who were removing asbestos from buildings at the former Pfizer property on Route 53 in Morris Plains had to be pulled from the project because of "fines levied by the NJ Department of Labor for violations during asbestos abatement," the developer of the site wrote in a letter to the state.

Man Killed Crossing Morristown Street

John Pirres was crossing the street near 65 Madison Avenue around 7:30 p.m. when he was struck by a 2011 black Dodge Durango, according to a release sent by Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp's office. Pirres was transported to Morristown Medical Center and died there shortly after.

Group Blasts Honeywell for Allegedly Exploiting Tax Loopholes

Small business owners and advocacy groups are urging the Senate to approve a budget plan that closes corporate tax loopholes. According to New Jersey Citizen Action, Fortune 500 companies like the Morris-based Honeywell Inernational exploit loopholes in the tax law that allow them to stash billions of dollars in offshore profits overseas.

Morris St. Patrick's Day Revelers Bask in Sunshine

A beautiful day greeted tens of thousands of revelers to the Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade in Morristown Saturday afternoon. Check out this photo gallery of people in green garb who lined the streets and circled the Morristown Green to witness a grand tradition. Along the route, the crowd was deep to watch the bands, performers and firetrucks come by.

The Morristown Stake of the Church of Latter-Day Saints welcomed D. Todd Christofferson, an apostle of the Mormon church, to its congregation where he gave a speech to more than 1,00 teenagers.
