Honeywell to Leave Morris Township for Morris Plains

Honeywell announced plans to leave its global headquarters in Morris Township for a 40-acre office complex it has agreed to buy in neighboring Morris Plains.

The Fortune 100 company said it is abandoning its original plan to keep its headquarters in Morris Township, the company's home for more than 50 years, because of delay tactics and lawsuits from opponents to a planned redevelopment project there, which involved rezoning the 147-acre site to allow the construction of 235 townhomes and expanded office and lab space.

Authorities are looking for a man caught on camera allegedly robbing the Morris Plains JP Morgan Chase Bank at 1711 Route 10.

Alleged Attacker Near Hospital Surrenders After Standoff

A man who allegedly assaulted his estranged wife near Morristown Medical Center surrendered to police after a two-and-a-half hour standoff in his Livingston home, authorities said.

According to Morristown Police, Donald Ebert, 54, struck his wife with the butt end of a gun near the hospital at about noon. Ebert fled the scene, causing lockdowns at several area schools.

Two fifth grade girls cut through a Harrison Street yard and ran to school to avoid a driver police have labeled as "suspicious" and are seeking information on.

The girls told police that they noticed the driver, a white man with a long beard that curls at the bottom, driving a small blue car as they were walking to the Alexander Hamilton School on Harrison Street, according to Detective Capt. Steve Sarinelli. 

Brouhaha for Big Brew Beer Fest in Morristown

The National Guard Armory in Morristown was the site of The Big Brew Beer Festival. As the event went on, many of the attendees, stuck outside waiting to check in, expressed concern over being able to get in at all. With tickets already purchased, many waited two hours to get into the event.
