Student Banned From Prom. Think it's Fair?

Shelton, CT boy's plight prompts Facebook activism.

Hey, Patch moms (and dads) we'd love your input on what is the hottest story in the Patchiverse right now. It involves a high school student, his imaginative idea on how to ask a girl to the prom and a principal who was not amused.

James Tate of Shelton High School in Shelton, CT taped large cardboard letters to the outside wall of the school’s main entrance, reading, “Sonali Rodrigues, will you go to prom with me?” 

She said yes, but now the principal has banned Tate from the prom.

Reaction from across the country has been so strong that a Facebook page entitled, "Let James Tate Go To the Prom," now has more than 120,000 fans.
