Morris Plains Man is Prize-Winning Angler

Success came at bass season opener at Lake George.

We learned that one of our local residents is a prizewinning bass fisherman. Bob Stock of Morris Plains won third place in the season opener of the NY BASS Chapter Federation, boaters' division, at Lake George on June 19. 

Stock's catch was 14.83 lbs, netting him $1,200 in prize money. The winning catch was 16.26 lbs.

"Stock reports fishing shallow water for cruising post spawn fish with plastics and Senkos. Stock’s best colors were Baby Bass, Watermelon and shades of Green. Stock believes using 8 lb. test Trilene XL generated more bites throughout the day."

A field of 194 competitors competed for $20,000 in prize money.
