Morris Plains Resident Gains Eagle Scout Status

Sachin Khadse, a Morristown High School junior, helped install fencing at Central Park of Morris County.

With Eagle Scout being the highest rank in Boy Scouts, one Morristown High School student is proud to hold that title.

Boy Scout Troop 39 of Morris Plains recently held a Court of Honor to recognize its 77th Eagle Scout since its founding in 1930: Sachin Khadse of Morris Plains.

Sachin’s Eagle project involved installing split-rail fences at the Central Park of Morris County. Central Park is used for various fundraisers, races and track meets. The installed fencing at the start/spectator area and around two turns helps guide runners and allows flags to be placed designating different race lengths. More than 30 volunteers, including Troop 39 Boy Scouts and their families, contributed 159 volunteer hours to complete this project
