Saturday is Morris Plains Wellness Day.

Multiple screenings, flu shots available.

This information was provided by the Morris Plains Board of Health and the Rotary Club of Morris Plains. 


The annual Morris Plains Wellness Day will be held on Sat., Oct. 15, from 8–11:30 a.m. at the Morris Plains Community Center on Jim Fear Drive.  

BMI, respiratory and Derma View skin screenings will be performed by a team from Morristown Medical Center. These tests do not require appointments or registration.  Blood pressure screening and health education materials will also be available to participants. All screening results can help people take action to reduce their risk of future disease and health problems.

As part of Wellness Day, the seasonal flu vaccine will be available to Morris Plains residents 50 years of age and older from 10– 11:30 a.m. Flu shots will also be offered to residents at the Community Center on Wednesday, October 26 from 1–2 p.m.

Residents under 50, those with chronic illnesses and pregnant women may also receive the vaccine by presenting a physician’s note.

Those receiving flu shots should wear short sleeves and bring their Medicare cards if applicable. Services are free to Morris Plains residents. People with minimal or no health insurance are particularly encouraged to attend the health screenings.

Several screenings required in-person registration and have now closed. This includes:

  • Complete Metabolic Profile (CMP) blood chemistry analysis including glucose, HDL and LDL cholesterol and cancer checks for men and women will be offered by appointment only.
  • Women’s cancer screening will include a manual breast exam, pelvic, digital-rectal exam and Pap test as indicated.  
  • Men’s cancer screening will consist of prostate, optional PSA blood test (additional charge of $25.00), testicular, and digital-rectal exam.
