Youths Take Plea, Snooki Wants to Come to Town Top Morris News

The two juveniles accused of bullying Lennon Baldwin each received one year probabtion when they faced court on Tuesday, according to MorristownGreen.com. One of the teens pleaded guilty to third-degree conspiracy to commit theft and simple assault, and the other pleaded guilty to third-degree theft and fourth-degree obstruction of justice.

Kleber Cordova, the 33-year-old man accused of murdering his wife in her bathtub in 2008, was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Tuesday. Cordova, an Ecuadorian immigrant in the country illegally, won't be eligible for parole for at least 38 years.

It was announced on Tuesday that MTV stars Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley will film their newest show, "Snooki & Jwoww" in Morristown starting on Aug. 9. A representative from the production company, 495 Productions, said that the two stars will not be living in Morristown, but they will film on sidewalks and in bars and restaurants.

Dozens of electrical union workers lined the streets on Whippany Road on Thursday to protest "sub-standard" wages of $10 per hour. A business agent at the Morris Township office of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 102 said the union workers should be getting more than $40 per hour.

The Morris Plains School District BOE approved a contract for Mountain Way School to have a permanent art and music classroom starting in the fall. The school will renovate an old storage room for the space. This is the first time the teachers have a permanent room; previously they were using a temorary room, and before that they were "on a cart."

The final performance for the Morris Plains Summer Concert Series will be this Sunday at Roberts Garden with Morris County-based Irish band Dicey Riley. The band will play original arrangements of traditional Irish music including folk songs, ballads and jigs.
