Creating a Caring Community: A Free Pastoral Training Program for Volunteers
Volunteers will be trained as “pastoral extenders,” who in collaboration with their clergy leaders, will be able to provide support for congregational members suffering from issues related to grief, chronic illness, discharge from the hospital or rehab facility, and other life stressors.
Ongoing support, mentorship and supervision will be provided by Rabbi Ruth Gais of Summit, Program Facilitator and a professional Board certified chaplain.
Cecille Allman Asekoff of West Orange, Course Director, is also the Director of
the Joint Chaplaincy Committee of Greater MetroWest and Executive VP of the
National Association of Jewish Chaplains. Complimentary kosher continental
breakfast and lunch provided.
