The Korn Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition, “Commonly Known as Whirligigs” by Janice Fenimore, on view October 24 through November 21, 2012.  The Gallery is located in the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts at Drew University and is open Tuesday through Friday 12:30-4:00 PM, selected weekends and by appointment.

Janice Fenimore is a self-taught wood carver. Ms. Fenimore enjoys finding the whimsical while drawing on American historical figures. The whirligig offers a simple and direct form of art to delight the eye while tweaking the mind to consider these household images from a new perspective.

Her work is in the permanent collections of the Newark Museum (Newark, NJ), American Museum of Folk Art (NYC), and the Smithsonian Institution/Renwick Gallery (Washington, DC).           Ms. Fenimore lives and works in Madison NJ.
