Fighters Against Jim Crow: the Forgotten History of African American Baseball
Presenters Dr. Lawrence Hogan and Robert Scott, who played with the New York Black Yankees from 1946-50, will journey to several places where black baseball was caught up in the racism of the Jim Crow era, as well as where the racial order that had assigned African Americans to an inferior place in society was opposed. The program will examine Atlantic City from 1916 to 1928 and Yankees Stadium on July 5, 1930.
