Morris Twp. Toy Drive Topples Expectations

Morris Township Municipal employees 'creativity and generosity' brighten the season for those in need.

Morris Township municipal employees, under the auspices of Kathy Whitehead, the Public Health Nurse Supervisor, finished their first holiday toy drive on Wednesday and according to Mayor Peter Mancuso, it was a monumental success.

"Each department and individual adopted a child or two and the employees were very creative and generous," Mancuso said at Wednesday night's Towship Committee meeting.

The goal, according to Whitehead, was that by participating in a gift drive that benefited children under the care of the Morris County Division of Child Protection and Permanency, the Morris Township municipal employees made Christmas a little brighter this year for these children.

Each Department or individual put together an assortment of gender and age appropriate clothes, toys, games, books, toiletries,  and the response was "incredible" Whitehead said.

Mancuso also expressed his gratitude for those involved in the drive.
"I want to thank the employees to make our first toy drive a great success," Mancuso said.
