Officer Honored After Stopping Suicide

Morris Township Officer Natisha McIver recognized by the Township Committee.

At their regular meeting on Wednesday, the Morris Township Committee took time to honor Officer Natisha McIver for saving the life of a 23-year-old man on Sept. 14.

According to Police Chief John McGuinness, McIver discovered a vehicle in the municipal parking lot  shortly after midnight.

“Officer McIver met with the occupant of the vehicle he gave no real reason why he was parked in the lot at such a late hour,” McGuinness said. “The subject told Officer McIver he failed on his first attempt and was about to complete the act when she arrived and stopped him.”
