Props For Playground Pioneers

Morristown athletes focused on more than just their sports for the benefit of the community.

More than 200 volunteers came together to build a new playground at Morristown Neighborhood House on Sept. 5. Among those who jumped into the fray were a slew of Morristown athletes, who were honored at Monday night’s board of education meeting. The new playground’s design was based on drawings created by children who participated in a Design Day event in July.

“We are very proud to give back to our community. This is one of the many service projects our students and faculty are involved in throughout the year,” said Kathy Perry, the Morristown director of athletics. “I want to thank Terry Hurley, he worked with the students to all day on site.”

Superintendent of the Morris School District Thomas Ficarra also had high praise for the students.
