Who is the Morristown Area's Person of the Year 2013?

Patch is bestowing its second annual honor to someone in Morristown, Morris Township or Morris Plains and we need you to decide who it is.

It is hard to believe that We're just weeks away from turning the calendar on 2013, a year in which we saw great accomplishments and, sadly, lost loved neighbors.

So, we're asking you, our readers, to nominate a "Person of the Year" for 2013. In 2012, Patch's inaugural competition for this honor, voters in Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains chose Bike and Walk Morristown co-founder Kendra Arnold.

A Morristown resident for over 10 years, Arnold was known for either leading an organized walk, on her bike, walking dogs or manning a booth seeking new members for Bike and Walk Morristown, an advocacy group promoting more and better options for bicycling and walking in town. She also has been a semi-regular blogger here on Patch.

This year, we're not limiting nominations to single persons, either. Do you think it was a group that did something noteworthy this year? How about a sports team, or maybe a local business that made a difference in the community?

Or, maybe you want to honor someone posthumously.

Consider the nomination period open right now. Post your thoughts in the comments section below. We won't have a vote-off unless it's too close to call, so the total number of nominations for a person, group or business on this thread will be our honoree.

We look forward to your nominations and, as always, thanks for your participation.
