Halloween week started off with a splash on Friday as a swarm of students from the Borough School swarmed downtown Morris Plains and decorated the merchant's windows as part of the annual Halloween Window Painting event.
According to Morris Plains Borough Councilwoman Suzanne McCluskey the program was started nearly four decades ago by Mayor Frank Druetzler before he took office.
The Borough School Art Teacher, Kirsten Howie, collected ideas from the children and then select students are chosen to participate. Each artist chose a friend to help and over 70 windows were painted over the course of the day.
The event is sponsored by the Morris Plains Rotary Club in conjunction with the Borough School and the many merchants in Morris Plains.
Check out the finished product this week at the shops on Speedwell and let us know which window was your favorite!
