Halloween 'Graffiti' Splatters Speedwell

Shops in Morris Plains given a spooktacular new look for the week.

Halloween week started off with a splash on Friday as a swarm of students from the Borough School swarmed downtown Morris Plains and decorated the merchant's windows as part of the annual Halloween Window Painting event.

According to Morris Plains Borough Councilwoman Suzanne McCluskey the program was started nearly four decades ago by Mayor Frank Druetzler before he took office.

The Borough School Art Teacher, Kirsten Howie, collected ideas from the children and then select students are chosen to participate. Each artist chose a friend to help and over 70 windows were painted over the course of the day.
