Boy Scout Troop 39 Honors 77th Eagle Scout

Sachin Khadse of Morris Plains is Boy Scout Troop 39's newest Eagle Scout.

Boy Scout Troop 39 of Morris Plains recently held a Court of Honor to
recognize its 77th Eagle Scout since its founding in 1930: Sachin Khadse of
Morris Plains.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in Boy Scouts and is held for
life. Sachin’s Eagle project involved installing split-rail fences at the
Central Park of Morris Country. Central Park is used for various fundraisers,
races and track meets. The installed fencing at the start/spectator area and
around two turns helps guide runners and allows flags to be placed designating
different race lengths. More than 30 volunteers, including Troop 39 Boy Scouts
and their families, contributed 159 volunteer hours to complete this project.

Sachin is a junior at Morristown High School. He has served as a patrol
leader, assistant senior patrol leader and quartermaster with Troop 39. In
addition, he is a member of the Order of the Arrow (the national honor society
of Scouting), attended National Youth Leadership Training, and received the
Scout Scholar Athlete Award. He is the son of Monisha and Vijay Khadse of
Morris Plains.
