ST. VIRGIL ACADEMY SCIENCE FAIR

St. Virgil Academy recently held its annual science fair and, as usual, the students did not disappoint!   The projects were very impressive and clearly demonstrated how strongly the school’s STEM curriculum has taken hold.  Every middle school student was challenged to come up with a project of interest that would take them through the entire scientific process.  The fair was judged by 10 professionals from the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  The first place winner from grade six was Avalina Michel of Randolph who tested how many mini-volts a hamster could produce on a handmade generator.  Ciara Holland, a seventh grader from Morris Township tested the most effective methods of human balancing.  Also from Morris Township, eighth grader Nijai Dixon won first place by testing the effects of air on the levels of vitamin C present in orange juice.

St. Virgil Academy is a co-educational Pre-K 3 through Grade 8 school located on the campus of St. Virgil parish in Morris Township.  For more information on the school, visit their website at www.stvirgilacademy.org or call the school office at 973-539-7267.
