Accident Leaves Two Injured

Police said accident caused by a vehicle turning into the path of another car

Police said an accident on Route 53 in Morris Plains the evening of Thursday, Jan. 12, was caused when a one vehicle turned into the path of another.

Two people were taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital by the Morris Minutemen.

Morris Plains Detective Bruce Rapp said one vehicle was traveling south on Tabor Road (Route 53) and attempted to turn left onto Foxwood Drive when it was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 53.

The driver of the first car, Tammy Evans, 40, of Easton, Pa., refused medical treatment. The driver of the second car, Jay Sheldon, 51, of Rockaway, and his passenger were both taken to the hospital, Rapp said..
