Anti-Bullying Symposium Thursday Night

Morris County Prosecutor's Office holding event at Public Safety Training Academy.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office is hosting an anti-bullying symposium on Thursday night at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy.

The event, which begins at 6, is being held in partnership with the NJ State Anti-Bullying Task Force

Speakers are set to include Commissioner of Education Chris Serf; Senior Deputy General Hester Agudosi, Office of the Attorney General; Executive County Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Serafino; and NJ Anti-Bullying Task Force and East Hanover Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Joseph Ricca.

The symposium will include discussions about HIB (Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying) and the law, law enforcement limitations and challenges, reporting obligations, guidance for schools on implementing the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, training the educational community, and assessing the school climate and culture.

More than 100 people are expected to attend, according to the prosecutor's office, including government officials, educational partners, concerned parents and community leaders.

The training facility is located at 500 West Hanover Ave. in Parsippany.
