Bank Robbed on Route 10 in Morris Plains

Prosecutor says $5,000 was stolen from JP Morgan Chase.

Authorities are looking for a man caught on camera allegedly robbing the Morris Plains JP Morgan Chase Bank at 1711 Route 10 Monday night.

The man, who was described as a black male by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, allegedly took about $5,000. Surveillance footage from the bank was provided to detectives and shows the man wearing a white sweater, winter hat and sunglasses.

According to a release from the prosecutor's office, the bank was robbed at about 6 p.m. and the man fled on foot.
