Building With Roof Collapse to be Razed Saturday, Traffic Delays Expected

No detours announced, police said, but spot closures likely.

Motorists in the area of Spring Street and Speedwell Avenue will likely face delays on Saturday, as a building in the area will be razed.

Morristown Police Lt. Stuart Greer advised that the roadways in the area will be open during the project, but as heavy equipment moves around the site, some spot closures may be in effect for short periods of time.

The building being demolished had a roof collapse earlier this year when the weight of melting snow was too much to hold.

No one was injured as a result of the collapse. A new building being erected in the location is expected to house apartment units, according to morristowngreen.com.

Construction is expected between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, June 21.
