Cops: Man With Drugs Tried to Run From Police

A 25-year-old Morristown man was arrested on multiple charges after he led officers on a brief foot chase through a residential Morris Plains neighborhood, police said.

Morris Plains Detective Jason Kohn said that just before 2 a.m. on July 21, Patrolman Jeffrey Hochman attempted to pull-over a vehicle for a driving violation. The driver, Ryan Aceto, 25, of Morristown, tried to lose the patrol car by speeding down a residential street and turning into one of the driveways, police said. Aceto then left the car, police said, and attempted to flee on foot, but he was quickly apprehended.

Police said Aceto was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and wasunder the influence. He was arrested on charges of obstruction, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence.
