Cops: Tip Helped Us Find Drunk Driver
The following arrest information was supplied by the Morris Township police department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A passing motorist tipped Morris Township officers off to an alleged drunk driver, police said.
Ptl. Mark Osterhoudt had a vehicle pulled over on East Hanover Avenue on June 17, when the passing motorist stopped to tell him about another vehicle being driven erratically, according to a statement from Capt. Rich Ferrone.
Police then found and stopped the Ford 250 pickup truck, in which driver Alexander Araya, 39, of Morris Township had open bottles of alcoholic beverages, Ferrone said.

Araya showed signs of intoxication, and was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of open containers of alcohol in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license, Ferrone said. Araya was released pending a future court date.
