Morris Township has activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Irene.
An EOC is a command center that brings together all the agencies involved in an emergency response. In Morris Township, that includes:
- Police department
- Fire department
- Office of emergency management
- Morris Minute Men
- Department of Public Works
Originally, the EOC was set to begin operating at 7 a.m. Sunday morning. However, at 8:30 Saturday evening, Patch received a notification from Township Administrator Tim Quinn saying that the EOC was operational and would remain so until further notice.
