Funeral Set for Man Killed by Train at Convent Station

The incident delayed train service from 11:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

New Jersey Transit confirmed that Timothy Connors, 56 of Morristown, was the man that died in Friday’s train collision at Convent Station.

Connors was described as a trespasser on the tracks when the Dover-bound Morris & Essex Line train hit him. The fatality happened around 11:45 a.m. near Kahn Road.

The 40 customers and crew members on the train were not injured, but service was delayed in both directions until 2:30 p.m.

Visitation hours for the Madison man are Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. and the funeral is Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Madison Memorial Home 159 Main St. in Madison, according to the Daily Record. Interment is at St. Vincent's Cemetery in Madison and in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Market Street Mission in his memory.
