Multiple DWI Arrests and Motor Vehicle Charges in Morris Township

Police blotter items of the last several weeks chronicled.

The Morris Township police blotter of the last several weeks contained multiple instances of alcohol- and driving-related charges.

  • While patrolling on Feb. 28 at about 2:30 in the morning, Ptl. Justin Crowell reportedly saw several people in a parked vehicle at the Convent train station. Police said that, following an investigation, Crowell issued a summons to Travon D. Fingall, 19, of Irvington, for underage possession of alcohol.
  • Ptl. Steven Crump was operating radar on West Hanover Ave. on March 3 when, police said, he clocked a 2004 Saab driving over the speed limit. Reportedly, the driver made several evasive maneuvers before the officer was able to stop the car. Police said the driver, Matthew Tallman, 18, of Randolph, was issued a summons for obstructing the administration of law and released pending a court date.  
  • On March 3, Ptl. Clay Boeninghaus stopped a 1996 Honda on Speedwell Ave. after the driver allegedly disregarded a traffic light. Based on his investigation, police said, Boeninghaus arrested Michael Tello, 20, of Morristown on charges of driving while intoxicated. According to police, Tello was also charged with failure to observe a traffic control device. Police said Tello was processed at Police Headquarters and later released to a relative
  • On March 3, Ptl. Steven Crump stopped a 2011 Honda on West Hanover Ave. for allegedly failing to maintain a lane. Following an investigation, police said Crump arrested Meredith Lucia, 23, of Randolph on charges of driving while intoxicated. Lucia was reportedly taken to police headquarters, where she was processed and later released. According to police, additional charges included failure to keep right, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane.    
  • On March 5, Ptl. Justin Crowell reportedly stopped a 2003 Chevrolet for making an illegal U-turn on Ridgedale Ave. According to police, Crowell arrested Genise Brown, 24, of Morristown on charges of driving while intoxicated. Brown was reportedly taken to police headquarters, where she was processed and later released. According to police, additional charges included failure to maintain a lane, failure to inspect, careless driving and improper turning. 
  • Also on March 5, Ptl. Mark Osterhoudt stopped a 2008 Infiniti for allegedly speeding on Speedwell Ave. Upon investigation, police said, Osterhoudt arrested Mark Bougas, 25, of Morris Plains on charges of driving while intoxicated. Police said Bougas was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later released. According to police, additional charges included reckless driving, speeding, and having an uninsured motor vehicle
