Newest Police Officer Welcomed to Morris Township

Nicholas Cevasco had previously served with the Rutgers University Police Department.

The Morris Township Police Department welcomed its newest member to the force during last week's Township Committee meeting.

The hiring of Nicholas Cevasco brings the total number of officers serving Morris Township to 41. The below information is courtesy Morris Township Police Chief John McGuinness:

Nicholas Cevasco is a July 2006 alternate route graduate of the Somerset County Police Academy. Since 2006 Officer Cevasco has worked at the Rutgers University Police Department.

Officer Cevasco has many professional certifications that include: Certification as a Drug Recognition Expert, an Alcotest Operator, Crash Investigation and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. For three years Officer Cevasco received the MADD award for leading his agency in Driving While Intoxicated arrests.

During his time away from the Police Department, Patrolman Cevasco enjoys physical conditioning, snowboarding and spending time with his family.

Officer Cevasco holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in the Administration of Criminal Justice from Rutgers University and an Associate Degree from the County College of Morris in Criminal Justice.
