Portion of Speedwell Closed Most of Monday After Accident
Traffic diverted near Friendly's in Morris Plains after SUV hit utility pole.
An accident in front of the Friendly's on Speedwell Avenue in Morris Plains Monday morning shut down part of the road for the entire day.
The roadway was not expected to be re-opened until about midnight. Traffic was being diverted in both directions on Speedwell Avenue between Hillview Avenue and Rosedale Avenue.
A Ford Explorer drove into a utility pole in front of the resaurant, according to DailyRecord.com.

A bystander said the accident happened at about 8:30 a.m.
"The car is pretty badly damaged and we didn't see the driver," she told Patch. "The pole came down. There are live wires on Speedwell Avenue. The road is closed in that section and it will probably be that way for hours."
