Video: Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Morris Plains Police Participate in nationwide effort.

The Morris Plains Police participated in Operation Take Back on April 30. This nation-wide effort aims to destroy outdated or no-longer-needed prescription medications before they fall into the wrong hands.

According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the first ever Take-Back Day, held in September of 2010, was a huge success, with Americans turning in more than 121 tons of prescription drugs. The numbers are not yet available, but the agency hopes to break that record with the April 30 collection.
